Inside the Roma camp on Via Selvanesco, journalists are insulted: "Get out of here!"

A witness's account: "Plastic and waste everywhere, and constant thefts."
(LaPresse) Plastic and trash everywhere, cars set on fire. A witness recounts what's happening inside the illegal nomad encampment on Via Selvanesco, an area not far from Via Saponaro in Gragratosoglio, Milan, where 71-year-old Cecilia De Astis was hit and killed by a car stolen by four minors . "Before, there was a barrier here on Via Selvanesco, and only those with a small garden could enter. Then they came, broke the lock on the barrier, and broke in: they're stealing everything from our gardens. They stole my scooter, my ladder," a witness recounts. "The settlement," the man adds, "dates back about a year: we risk fighting every day. Two weeks ago, they stole two cars, brought them here, and set them on fire. They're doing all sorts of things, and we can't do anything," he reports. In the background, the caravans of the Roma camp, in front of which stands a woman who has no desire to speak, surrounded by children who do not hide, even with insults, their annoyance at the presence of journalists.
